The festive period is once more packed with some top class racing, and gets underway on Saturday with the Ladbroke Hurdle at Ascot. Balder Success is the Antepost favourite but Cash and Go and Ranjaan have both been well supported in the run up to the race, so don’t be surprised to see these three at the business end of proceedings.
The King George VI Chase returns on Boxing Day with a very competitive line up, with 2010 winner Long Run the favourite at this early stage. However, with the dominance of Kauto Star sadly in the past, there is the chance for a new horse to make his name, and expect the likes of Grands Crus, Riverside Theatre and Sir Des Champs to be vying to claim the prize of this Cheltenham Gold Cup pointer. On Thursday the 27th, the Welsh National at Chepstow dominates proceedings and with a number of entries looking to the Grand National, could be one to watch closely on Christmas week.
