Revel will offer visitors 1,100 hotel rooms, with several dining and entertainment options for vacationers and locals alike. The casino is also responsible for adding over 5,000 employees to the New Jersey workforce. That figure is one that many New Jersey residents are glad to see.
New Jersey is expected to lose their designation as the top gaming market on the East Coast by the end of this year. Pennsylvania, by many analysts' predictions, will surpass New Jersey in terms of overall gaming revenue by the end of 2012. Casino executives in Atlantic City are hopeful that Revel helps buck the trend of gamblers traveling to Pennsylvania to enjoy casinos.
Since the economic recession, many lawmakers around the US have turned to casino gambling to help revive their economy's. Atlantic City and Las Vegas have had to deal with the brunt of that expansion, losing hundreds of millions of dollars in gaming revenue to other states. |
