TruePoker celebrates the launch of "The Beast" by seeding the Progressive Jackpot with an extra $60,000.
San Jose, Costa Rica – June 27, 2012 - The fur is sure to fly on TruePoker this weekend, as the online poker site unveiled "The Beast", a groundbreaking progressive rake race that will be unleashed Sunday, July 1.
According to a company representative, The Beast might end up being the richest points race in the history of online poker, as it promises to be the first-ever progressive points race that will continually grow from the players' shared jackpot contribution.
The Beast, which will be held once a month, will award substantial cash prizes to those who place in the race. As the field of competitors increases, so will the seeding of the cash prizes.
"We estimate that the first month alone could clear over $200,000, with a first prize of more than $25,000," TruePoker spokesperson Michael Harris said. "We call it The Beast because this promotion is meant for hard-core grinders. To conquer The Beast, participants will need to play like one to be able to make it to the top."
The Beast's structure suggests it will be something totally new on the poker landscape —not to mention an enormously generous event.
"Our players can now play poker with a positive expectation from the shared jackpot contribution," Harris said. "We're spreading the winnings out to our player base so everyone can benefit from jackpot tables each month."
The progressive component makes The Beast a unique variation on the industry-standard rake race. The promotion has two components. The first is a cash race, for which TruePoker will award cash bonuses to the most frequent players, with total prizes expected to exceed $100,000.
For this component, a percentage of the existing Jackpot fee will go toward one massive prize pool. The more people who play at the jackpot tables, the greater the prize pool, and, in turn, the more people who'll reap the rewards.
The second component is a leaderboard that awards tournament entries to a monthly super-satellite, where players can win a dream poker vacation at the Punta Cana Poker Classic in the Dominican Republic. The value of the tropical excursion exceeds $5,000 — and that's not including the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity the winner will have to play in a live no-limit holdem poker tournament with a guaranteed $500,000 prize pool.
"At the end of the day," Harris said, "our goal is simply to benefit more players through a never-seen-before promotion that unlocks huge rewards for our biggest grinders. We'll be giving out more money faster, without taking any additional jackpot rake." |
