Mobile gambling provider Probability plc signs up for high speed SMS and WAP billing

The UK-based Mobile Interactive Group (MIG) will be servicing two objectives of the dynamic mobile gambling provider Probability plc following an agreement signed this week: superfast premium SMS and WAP billing and advertising services from sister company 4th Screen Advertising to boost marketing.

MIG’s sister company 4th Screen Advertising will develop and execute Probability's mobile advertising strategy to build up its customer base in the UK and Europe. The mobile marketing specialist is a mobile media sales agency that focuses specifically on the mobile sector.

"Early campaigns through 4th Screen Advertising have been extremely positive. On the strength of this we will be investing significantly in this exciting new channel, particularly to launch new services, such as Russell Grant mobile bingo," said Charles Cohen, CEO of Probability.

"The experience we are developing now will put us in an even stronger position in September when the new Gambling Act liberalises the advertising of gambling services such as ours across all media."

The deal will see Probability invest six figure budgets with 4th Screen Advertising in 2007, who will work closely with Probability's own marketing team to ensure the campaigns continually deliver ROI.

Commenting on the partnership, Barry Houlihan, MIG's managing director said, "We are delighted to be able to offer Probability a range of billing products to help provide end users with a much better experience. I am especially pleased that we have been able to create a highly valuable new marketing channel for Probability working with our sister company 4th Screen Advertising. Mobile advertising is a highly compelling channel for content owners but requires the skills of specialist agencies to deliver a strong ROI."

The Probability deal is the second significant agreement secured by Mobile Interactive group in the past few weeks. A major mobile messaging service supplier, SinglePoint announced earlier that it has partnered with MIG to offer an enhanced suite of mobile marketing applications, and platforms, for content providers looking to reach more than 230 million wireless subscribers in the United States through interactive television mobile campaigns.

The partnership enables SinglePoint to utilize a number of MIG's mobile technology platforms in the U.S., including an award winning high speed premium SMS voting platform called "VoteWinner," which processes 2 000 messages per second. "VoteWinner" received the 'The Best SMS and/or MMS Network Infrastructure' honor at the Global Messaging Awards in May 2006.

SinglePoint will also utilize MIG's "InstantWinner" application, which is an iTV platform specifically designed to increase participation by delivering highly targeted messages to campaign players. Additionally, SinglePoint will integrate MIG's Mobile Interactive Delivery Application Solution ("MIDAS") into its iTV suite of applications. "MIDAS" is used by some of the UK's leading broadcasters and production companies, including FremantleMedia, Endemol, Celador and broadcast network ITV, to process mass participation competitions, quizzes and alerts services.

Punters For Probability

UK mobile advertising deal will drive more over 18's to mobile gambling network

Probability Gaming plc, the UK mobile gambling provider is likely to see a marked increase in clientele for its licensees following an agreement with adult mobile advertising network Adultmoda this week.

Charles Cohen, CEO of Probability comments: “Gambling is one of the highest yielding and most attractive services available to mobile users today, but reaching new customers efficiently is still a challenge.”  It's a challenge that Cohen is addressing through the Adultmoda deal, which targets mobile users in the over 18 age group.

Adultmoda claims it is the only adult mobile advertising solution on the market and gives adult companies wishing to advertise on mobile the opportunity to run highly targeted campaigns, allowing adult mobile internet site owners and adult java application owners to monetise their global traffic.

The company offers advertisers highly targeted, colour animated banner ads, static banner ads, and text ads, on a CPC or CPM basis, and has a live global publisher network exceeding 400 million mobile internet impressions per month, with cutting edge ad serving and ad management technology built upon years of mobile experience and expertise.

Adultmoda's commitment is to drive large numbers of over 18s to Probability’s Mobile Casino and Russell Grant mobile bingo operations throughout the UK and other territories.

Terry Jackson CEO at MobVision comments “We are delighted to be working with Probability. We are confident that we will deliver a high ROI because our technology ensures that the users who will see Probability’s ads will be surfing mobile sites aimed at over 18s, will be UK based, and have Java phones.”

Directorate Changes At Probability

Published: Thursday, September 06, 2007 mgowanbo.cc

Two leave, but experienced exec appointed

eCOGRA independent director and ex-BDO Stoy Hayward partner Bill Henbrey (61) has accepted an appointment as a non-executive director on the board of mobile gambling specialised firm Probability Games plc.

Henbrey was head of the UK Betting & Gaming and Leisure & Hospitality units at BDO for some 30 years until his retirement in June 2006, and has advised a range of UK and international land-based and on-line gaming operators. Other directorships he has held include Best of the Best plc and GexTech Holdings Ltd.

Two of Probability's directors are stepping down. Ravi Ruparel has resigned in order to pursue other interests, and Ben Hirsch has emigrated to Israel, and is also departing the board. John Scaife has relinquished his responsibilities as president but remains a non-executive director.

The company took the opportunity to inform investors that Arbuthnot Securities Limited is its nominated adviser and broker with immediate effect.

Probability chairman Graham Parr said, “We remain committed to building a first-rate team. The appointment of Arbuthnot, in tandem with that of Bill Henbrey, represents an important step in achieving this objective.

"Bill brings with him over three decades of experience in the financial management and development of gambling businesses. He also has direct experience of AIM listed companies and an unqualified reputation for probity and extensive knowledge of businesses of our type.

“The Board wishes to thank Ben Hirsch for his signal contribution over the past year, in particular his insights into the mobile industry and consumer affairs. We all wish him and his family the very best in their new life in Israel. The Board also thanks Ravi Ruparel, who, as Finance Director over the past two years, played a pivotal role in the transition of the business into a flourishing listed company at the forefront of its industry. Ravi uniquely combines entrepreneurial flair with the rigorous attention to detail required of a Finance Director. We wish him every success in his future business ventures.

“I would also like to thank John Scaife who helped found the company and worked tirelessly to secure its transition from a start-up to public company over the past four years. His continued engagement as a non-Executive Board Director ensures that we will be able to benefit from his deep knowledge of the business, in particular his expertise in regulatory matters, and from his insights garnered from his previous career in the City.”

Probability - More Customers, Better Revenues

Published: Thursday, October 25, 2007 博彩518 mgowanbo.cc

Mobile gambling specialist achieves maiden operating profit

Second quarter results for UK mobile gambling provider Probability plc showcase a maiden operating profit in September 2007, and increased revenues and player signups.

Key performance indicators released by CEO Charles Cohen disclose that VIP customers played a role in Probability achieving its maiden profitability numbers.

The company reported net gaming revenues up a creditable 34 percent to GBP 675 413 (Q1 2007: GBP 503 607) and a 15 percent increase in new customer signups of 29 914, bringing the client base to 228 902.

Probability has cash reserves totaling GBP 1.1 million.

The growth in player numbers created favourable results, but performance in the last two months of the second quarter was additionally enhanced by the introduction in July of an invitation-only VIP area for mobile Casino customers, branded "The Private Room at Lady Luck's". Net gaming revenues of over GBP 20 000 per VIP are not unusual in this area, Cohen reports, with an average to date of GBP 1 500 across all VIPs. Retention of these higher spending customers is currently greater than for non-VIPs.

Growth of the high margin bingo and slots segment has continued to improve gross margin in the company's activities during the quarter. Cross-selling of casino game formats to bingo and slots players has been improved and continues to support the growth in net gaming revenues.

Cohen takes a confident but cautious view of the immediate future. "Having achieved its first month of profitable trading in September, the company remains focused on attaining stable revenue growth from a fixed cost base," he said. "The business remains subject to the natural volatility of gambling revenues, and therefore does not at this time consider it prudent to revise medium term earnings expectations."

Probability has experienced good trading in October, and hopes to benefit from additional revenues during the coming quarter from the partnership announced in August with Blue Square, the on-line betting and gaming division of Rank Group plc. Under this agreement, all Blue Square customers will be able to play Roulette, Blackjack and other games supplied by Probability on their mobiles using their existing Blue Square account. Probability will receive a share of gaming revenues generated.

Probability plc listed on AIM in August 2006 and the company is licensed in Alderney. Its proprietary technology delivers an integrated portfolio of casino, bingo and slots entertainment to players using over 2 800 models of mobile phone. The firm's mobile e-wallet, certified by the FSA, handles all payments for customers.

Probability Cuts Half Yearly Losses

Published: Wednesday, December 05, 2007 https://www.gowanbo.cc

NGR well up on same time last year, but operating loss persists

The last few months have seen the name of UK mobile technology company Probability plc appearing regularly in the business news, with solid white label partnership deals involving respected companies like Orange, Rank Group and The Sun newspaper.

The upward trend in the firm's fortunes is reflected in its latest half yearly results published this week, which reflect a significant improvement in net gaming revenues from last year's corresponding period, when NGR amounted to GBP 613 000 to this the 2007 numbers of GBP 1.1 million to the end of September.

The company is still showing operating losses, but they are decreasing rapidly and at GBP 624 000 (2006: GBP 2.1 million) and taken with an impressive 24 000 new customer signups there is justification for management's optimism going forward.

Chief executive officer Charles Cohen says: “As a vertically integrated operator with our own technology platform, brand and fixed overheads we are able to take full advantage of the expanding opportunity of mobile gambling. Even before factoring in deals such as Blue Square, the Sun and Orange, we are confident of delivering growth in line with expectations for the full year and beyond.”

Probability Leads The iPhone Way

Published: Monday, December 10, 2007 https://www.gowanbo.cc

UK mobile company develops an iPhone gambling capability

London-listed mobile technology company Probability plc, successfully demonstrated a gambling service running on an Apple iPhone last week, leading the mobile gambling field in the technology.

The company has developed a fully working version of Blackjack, boasting that it is the first online casino game to have been built and demonstrated in real money play mode on an iPhone in the UK.

The iPhone Blackjack has all the features of the real game, including insurance, split and double down options enjoyed by gamblers. Bets take place on Probability's secure gambling servers in Alderney in the Channel Isles using the iPhone's mobile or WiFi connections.

Being an iPhone application, the game has all the benefits of the device's unique, touch driven, interface. Tapping twice on the screen zooms the player into seeing the cards close up, and the player can drag and scroll the whole game experience with a fingertip. Interaction involves tapping virtual buttons on the screen.

Unfortunately, the iPhone inventor Apple does not presently allow third party developers to install applications on the iPhone. However, Probability's developers - working from technical information provided by Apple itself - have been able to re-create a full Blackjack experience in the iPhone's Safari web browser.

Probability has over 200 000 customers on all UK networks signed up for gambling on casino and bingo on their mobile phones.

Commenting on the iPhone development work, Probability's CEO Charles Cohen, said: "This really is a world first and an important technological step for us. The iPhone experience, I believe, is a sign of things to come for all mobile phones."

Using Web 2.0 marketing tactics, Probability has demonstrated the new iPhone game on YouTube.com.

Probability Records Maiden Quarterly Profit

2008-01-17

Probability Plc, the mobile gambling specialist, has reported a maiden quarterly profit for the company’s third quarter ended Dec. 31st 2007, with a 38% increase in net gaming revenues to £930,198 and 47,323 new customers registrations during the period.

New business wins in the quarter included the company’s mobile portal deal with mobile phone operator Orange, offering the company’s Lady Luck branded mobile bingo, casino and casual gambling games in the UK, with over 5,000 new customers registered through the deal in December.

The company also launched white label deals in the period with Rank Group’s Blue Square as well as The Sun newspaper, both of which have already contributed to total net revenues.

Christmas trading proved exceptionally strong for Probability, who recorded their busiest day ever with over 9 bets being placed per second. Customer deposits were also higher, with 30% more deposits in December than in the preceding month.

Charles Cohen, Chief Executive Officer of Probability, said: “This was another exceptionally strong quarter for Probability, having passed the milestone of making our first full quarter’s profit. We were very pleased in particular by our Christmas rush, which underpins our belief that the latent demand for our services is huge, and that we have the right products and routes to market with which to tap it.

“With our strong network operator relationships and our tie-ups to blue-chip companies such as Rank Group, I can only see this continuing. The gambling sector is traditionally defensive, and I believe that while the credit crunch may be keeping people away from the shops, many of them seem to be very happy to play our slots, Bingo and Roulette games on their mobiles instead of tramping up and down the high street.”

The Company expects the final quarter of their fiscal year to reap the benefits of a strong festive season and maintain the momentum generated over the course of the past three months.

Shares of Probability Plc (LSE:PBTY) are this afternoon trading up 7.38% to 65.50 pence in London.

Good Mobile Business For Probability

Monday, January 21, 2008 mgowanbo.cc

38 percent growth in third quarter trading

Mobile gambling specialist Probability plc has announced a rise in net gaming revenues of 38 percent, to GBP 930 198 for the third fiscal quarter. Total customer numbers for the period totaled just over 276 000, a rise of 22 percent.

Business media in the UK like the Financial Times have pointed out that Probability did not enjoy the easiest of starts on the London Alternative Investment Market (AIM), which was hit by the fallout of the US Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act just a week after listing. But with a business model backed by the market and rising revenues, the mobile phone gambling specialist has grown in confidence.

The company provides gambling games including casino, bingo and slots to customers on their mobile phones, a market in its infancy but growing fast.

Probability was first set up as a mobile lottery game, dubbed Mlotto, in 2004, before changing its name the following year. It listed on AIM in August 2006 at 82p after launching its casino suite. The shares rose for about a week, before declining sharply in the wake of the UIGEA and mass pullout from the USA by many listed gambling companies.  Five months later, its value had more than halved, coming to rest at 39.5p in line with the rest of the sector, hit by the devastating changes in America, where financial transactions with online gambling companies were prohibited.

CEO Charles Cohen recalls those dark days, saying: "We were an unproven, loss-making business in a sector that was all heat and no light. No one knew the correct valuation of these companies."

Recently the group has raised its profile with several landmark deals. In September, it announced a white labeling contract with Rank Group, to provide mobile gaming for its database of customers. This was followed two months later by a deal with The Sun newspaper and a further tie-up with Orange, part of France Telecom. It has followed this with news that it has developed the first gambling game for the iPhone.

In early December, Probability revealed that its first-half pre-tax losses had narrowed to GBP 600 000 from GBP 2.1 million last year. It hit operating profitability for the first time in September 2007.

Since then, the shares have leapt 26p. Probability released its third-quarter numbers last week, in which net gaming revenues rose 38 percent quarter-on-quarter to GBP 930 198. The market still expects it to make a loss this year, but the predictions for 2008 are for the company to turn a profit of about GBP 700 000, all things being equal.

The group's latest game is called Crazy Camels, a variation on the electronic horse-racing games. Probability has themed the stand at the ICE exhibition accordingly, and even has a real palm tree, although no camels, because – as Cohen said – the smell would clear Earls Court.

Michael Spencer Shows The Way

2008年2月12日周二 mgowanbo.cc

Canny UK investor picks out Probability

The savvy London investor Michael Spencer appears to have identified the mobile gambling field as a solid opportunity, according to City financial reports this morning (Tuesday) which reveal that the respected founder of ICAP and City Index bought nearly 3.4 million shares in mobile technology company Probability at 50p a share, a 15.3 percent discount to the present share price.

Reuters news service reports that Spencer purchased GBP 1.7 million pounds in shares through IPGL, in which his family are majority shareholders. The company now holds a total of 15.8 percent of Probability and its director Matthew Wreford will join the board of the gambling firm as a non-executive director.

IPGL's gaming portfolio includes Money Gaming Corp, casual gaming site Doof.com operators and horseracing data provider Turftrax. It previously invested in online bookmaker Blue Square which was sold to Rank Group in 2003.

"I am confident that Probability can be a major player in one of the most exciting growth areas in the gaming arena over the next decade," Spencer said in a statement.

The net proceeds of the placing will be used to provide working capital for Probability to help the growth of its mobile gambling services.

Probability CEO Charles Cohen said: “I feel it is a massive vote of confidence. He has a reputation for spotting business opportunities early.”
