Ladbrokes and William Hill sign on for ID verification technology
The United Kingdom technology firm GB Group, which specialises in online electronic ID checks, has signed up two of Britain's major gambling firms for its service. William Hill and Ladbrokes opted for the GB product this week after extensive study.
The latest deals mean that GB Group now has the top ten UK online gaming companies on its client list.
URU and ID3-Check are the main GB products involved, offering cutting edge protection through ID verification.
Additionally, in the Telecoms sector, Blyk.com has announced that it has selected GB's URU and ID3-Check as its chosen age and identity verification solutions for its revolutionary new service, the first ad-funded mobile network in Europe which links young people up with brands they like and gives free text messages and minutes every month.
Richard Law, GB's Chief Executive, commented: "These recent business successes for GB's electronic age and identity solutions in both the Online Gaming and Telecoms sectors increase our leading position in these markets.
"More importantly, they illustrate the continued move by organisations away from paper-based methods of verification to more efficient and effective electronic solutions. This is evident across all sectors including Financial Services."
A spokesman for William Hill said that it would use ID3 to verify the identities of international players in order to reduce the risk of underage gamblers or players from illegal territories accessing its products and services. |
