Bet365 wins EGR Operator of the Year award

Bet365 and Betfair won three awards each at the eGaming Review Operator Awards last night, with the Stoke-based gaming business winning the coveted prize of Operator of the Year.
Bet365 beat shortlisted nominees including 888, Betsson, PartyGaming, Unibet and Betfair to receive the trophy, while Betfair was highly commended.
The 10-year old business founded by Denise Coates won Casino Operator and best website performance, sponsored by website performance monitoring firm Gomez.
Betfair won Innovation, Mobile Operator and UK sports-betting operator of the year, while William Hill was highly commended for UK sports-betting operator.
Bwin’s Manfred Bodner won the Outstanding contribution to the industry award. In his acceptance speech he thanked the industry for 10 “fun years” as well as his co-founder Norbert Teufelberger, saying the award was really for the whole company.
The Austrian operator that is planning to merge with PartyGaming in the first quarter of next year, also won in the European sports betting operator category, fighting off competition from Betclic, Betsson and Unibet.
The Rising Star award went to NeoGames Partners, while the One-to-Watch prize went to Costa Bingo.
The evening’s host was TV comedian Jack Whitehall, who entertained a crowd of more than 800 people from the egaming industry.
Extrabet’s Tom Barley won first prize in the evening’s prize draw, receiving an iPad. Ladbrokes’ Lisa Slocombe won second prize, a weekend stay at South Lodge Hotel in Sussex, while Paddy Power’s Isaac Ward won third prize, a Fortnum and Mason hamper.
The event also raised money for Great Ormond Street Hospital, with PartyGaming donating £20,000.
