Ladbrokes Makes Changes To Language Offerings

Ladbrokes now supports nine languages and 17 currencies
Ladbrokes Plc, the leading UK gambling group, has reviewed its current portfolio of sites and languages supported, and has made the decision to cut back on some of these.
According to the Managing Director for Digital Channels, International and Strategy for Ladbrokes, Gary McIlraith, the group will be cutting back on the number of its sub sites that have been tailored to specific markets.
From now on, the group will run 13 tailored language gambling and sports betting sites, in nine languages overall.
Ladbrokes supports 17 currencies from around the world.
"We've taken a fresh look at what is the appropriate number of languages we operate in, their cost effectiveness and potential moving forward," said McIlraith.
"As a result of the in depth review, we are reducing the range of languages and tailored sites that we offer. This will enable us to better target our internal resources and strengthen our marketing spend around those languages and markets that have the potential to provide significant and durable, regulated revenues and profit."

Those languages that Ladbrokes will stop offering its products in are as follows: Slovenian, Slovakian, Russian, Romanian, Portuguese, Norwegian, Hungarian, Finnish, Czech, Croatioan and Bulgarian.
It will continue to run its excellent sites in these languages: German, Thai, Polish, Spanish, Greek, Chinese, Danish, Swedish and, of course, English.
"This is about focusing and strengthening our online resources to where we can operate efficiently and ensure durable scale," added McIlraith. "We remain very committed to our key markets and will continue to actively review new market opportunities both online and offline where we believe we can achieve the requisite scale and compete effectively." |
