Club announce biggest ever shirt sponsorship deal
Wigan Athletic are delighted to confirm the most lucrative shirt sponsorship in the club's history after agreeing a two year deal with online betting brand 12BET, starting from July 1.
The 12BET logo will feature on all Wigan Athletic replica shirts and training apparel, excluding juniors, for the next two seasons, with the option of a third season to follow.
The agreement also includes 12BET becoming Wigan Athletic official Betting and Gaming Partner, and maintaining a high profile brand presence in and around the DW Stadium.
Neil Ryan, Wigan Athletic Head of Marketing, Commercial and Retail, said: "We are really pleased to have agreed this major new commercial partnership.
"To have secured such a substantial fee from a high profile brand like 12BET demonstrates clearly where the club is going and we are looking forward to working with them to achieve our collective objectives over the next two years'.
Wigan Athletic Chief Executive Jonathan Jackson said: "The Barclays Premier League is a global brand and Wigan Athletic are now firmly established throughout the world as a part of it.
"As part of our strategy to grow our name internationally, we wanted to find a brand that was an ideal fit for the club to establish a longer term relationship and to agree a deal that commercially benefits both parties.
Our agreement with 12BET fits those criteria and will give excellent value and exposure, reflecting the success that we have had in recent years.
"12BET is an exciting new partner for Wigan Athletic and we are delighted to be working with them."
Rory Anderson, CEO of 12BET Europe said: "We are delighted to join forces with Wigan Athletic - a sponsorship that will give us great exposure both in the UK and globally, providing the perfect platform to promote our core proposition; in play football betting.
"We have always been impressed with the club's ethos associated with loyalty, commitment and team spirit, values that sit closely with our own. We look forward to working closely with the club and its supporters to make this partnership a huge success". |
