International Friendly
International football takes centre stage this weekend, as the domestic leagues take a breather to make way for the Champions League.
In what should be an exciting encounter, Italy take on the Euro 2012 co-hosts, Poland, at Wroclaw. The Polish team will relish the opportunity to test their strength against the Italians, especially since the Azzurri will be missing several key personnel up front. Poland have been undefeated in their last 5 international friendlies, but Italy will be looking to change that this weekend.
The USA walks into what should be an uphill battle against France, at the Stade de France tonight, and the fact that their record scorer is absent will not help Jurgen Klinsmann's team at all. Les Bleus will also be missing some top talent, but have enough in reserve to ensure that their 15 game unbeaten streak in internationals continue.
Arguably the biggest match of the weekend takes place between 2 giants of European football, when England host the World Champions, Spain at Wembley. Ideally, England would want to field their best player against the number 1 team in the world, but England manager Fabio Capello has instead opted to audition a replacement for Rooney, who will miss the first 3 games of the European Championship due to suspension. England will be hoping to give Spain a good run, and perhaps pull off an upset, but this is the most successful Spanish team in history, and deservedly firm favourites for this match.

NFL Week 10
Sunday sees the New York Giants square up against the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL. Both teams are leading their respective divisions, but the 49ers are on a six game winning streak, and go in favourites, but the Giants come off an upset win over the Patriots last weekend, and will be looking for a repeat performance.
The Green Bay Packers will be playing for a 9-0 record against the Vikings on Monday, and shouldn't have too much trouble dispatching the team from Minnesota, who come in as big underdogs on the road. The Viking have only managed 2 wins this season, but come fresh in off a bye in week 9, and confident after a victory in week 8. Will it be enough to put up a decent fight against a rampant Packers outfit though?
