LONDON (Reuters) - Sept 3 (Reuters) - Online gaming software provider Playtech Ltd posted a 90 percent rise in first-half adjusted net pretax profit as revenue rose 85 percent driven by organic growth and acquisitions, the company said on Wednesday.

For the six months ended June 30, the company posted adjusted net pretax profit of $57.82 million compared with net pretax profit of $30.43 million a year earlier, as revenue rose to $81.39 million from $43.97 million.

The company confirmed it is looking at acquisition opportunities. It said it has commenced due diligence on one opportunity, which has so far progressed satisfactorily.

Playtech almost doubled its interim dividend to 12 cents each from last year's 6.1 cents.

A strong pipeline of both organic and in-organic growth makes the the company confident of its progress for the remainder of 2008, Chairman Roger Withers said.
